Position Description : Job Summary
The School-Based Program Therapist is responsible for coordinating and providing direct bereavement services to students in their assigned districts. The School-Based Program Therapist will be provided a workspace on-site at the designated school district as assigned by School-Based Program Manager. A company laptop will be provided by CBCST to allow for completion of assigned administrative duties and work-related projects. The position will require travel within assigned districts. Mileage will be reimbursed through mileage forms that will be provided by the School-Based Program Manager. The position of School-Based Program Therapist is a grant funded position and is dependent on the needs expressed by districts and agencies partnered with CBCST.Job Description
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS / PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS :
Manage client service caseload in conjunction with School Based Program ManagerProvide individual bereavement counseling utilizing a trauma informed approachComplete TGCT screener and additional assessments required by grant funding for all individual clientsCollect relevant client documents for uploading to client file to include intake forms, consents for treatment, custody documentation, etc.Complete session notes and participation tracking within a 48-hour timeframe. All notes for the month must be submitted no later than the first day of the following month.Conduct support groups following prepared curriculum in an age-appropriate manner consistent with trauma informed approachAdminister required assessments, pre-group screeners, and post-group screeners for students participating in grief support groups.Enter assessments into appropriate databasesProvide crisis management response and collaborate with school personnel to report any concerns related to students reporting abuse, or intent to harm self or others, in accordance with state reporting guidelines and district protocolsReport all ethical and safety concerns to School Based Program ManagerProvide parent trainings and outreach as requested by districtProvide professional development trainings for district staff in conjunction with School Based Program ManagerMaintain professional, collaborative relationships with all district personnel and other collaborative partnersAttend weekly School-Based clinical team meetings with School-Based Program ManagerTravel :
tExpected to provide school-based support groups at multiple schools within the assigned districtsQualifications and Education Requirements
A.\tMasters degree in a relevant field (social work / counseling), clinical licensure of LPC-Associate, LPC, LCSW or LMFT with at least two years of post-licensure clinical experience.
B.\tMust be familiar with trauma informed approach
C.\tClassroom management skills
D.\tGood organizational skills
E.\tBilingual preferred but not required
Physical Requirements
This position involves typical periods of sitting, walking, and clinical typing for documentation, with occasional lifting up to 20 pounds, mobility within the office, school campus, and the capacity to work with children of all ages. Clear verbal and written communication, along with basic reaching and dexterity skills, are essential for successful performance.
