We are The Children's Center of Monmouth County. Our Special Education Paraprofessionals play a crucial role in supporting students with diverse learning needs. Duties
- Assist the teacher in implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs.
- Provide support in classroom and behavior management techniques to promote a positive and accepting learning environment.
- Facilitate small group activities and one-on-one instruction tailored to students’ unique learning requirements.
- Help students with daily living skills, including personal care and social interactions.
- Monitor student progress and report observations to the teacher.
- Collaborate with other educational support professionals to develop and adapt curriculum materials suited for diverse learners.
- Maintain a safe, secure. and engaging classroom environment conducive to learning.
Skills
- HS Diploma or its equivalent
- Some practical knowledge of special needs education, principles, and practices.
- Strong communication skills. The ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine interest in supporting student growth and development
- Previous experience working with students who have special needs is highly desirable.
