Duties
- Help develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans that encourage learning through play and exploration.
- Create a safe and welcoming classroom environment that supports children's growth and development.
- Foster positive relationships with children, encouraging their independence and self-esteem.
- Collaborate with other staff members to ensure a cohesive approach to child care and education.
- Maintain accurate records of children's activities, behaviors, and developmental milestones.
- Communicate effectively and appropriately with parents regarding their child's progress and any concerns that may arise.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including first aid protocols.
- Maintain a clean center environment by completing basic tasks such as: cleaning, sweeping, mopping, sanitizing, etc.
- Must be physically able to bend, kneel, twist, turn, crouch. Must also be physically able to life, carry, or position children or objects up to 50 pounds.
Skills
- Experience in child care settings is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and practices.
- Excellent communication skills to engage effectively with children, parents, and colleagues.
- Patience, empathy, and the ability to create a positive learning environment.
- Strong organizational skills to manage classroom activities efficiently.
- CDA or early childhood education degree preferred, but not required.
