Pay/Compensation:

PAY/COMPENSATION ($/HOUR) IS BASED ON EXPERIENCE, MORE EXPERIENCE = MORE COMPENSATION.

Requirements:

  • Pediatric dental assisting experience required.

Key Responsibilities:

Patient Care:

  • Welcoming patients and their guardians.
  • Preparing treatment rooms.
  • Taking dental radiographs (X-rays).
  • Cleaning teeth.
  • Placing dental sealants.
  • Educating patients and guardians on oral hygiene.
  • Documenting dental care services

Assisting the Dentist:

  • Preparing patients for treatment.
  • Setting up instrument trays.
  • Assisting during dental procedures.
  • Sterilizing and disinfecting instruments.
  • Operating dental equipment.
  • Providing postoperative instructions.

Skills:

  • Communication: The ability to effectively communicate with children and parents, using kid-friendly language and explaining procedures clearly.
  • Interpersonal Skills: The ability to build rapport with children and put them at ease during dental visits.
  • Knowledge of Dental Procedures: Familiarity with dental procedures, equipment, and materials used in pediatric dentistry.
  • Patient Care: The ability to provide compassionate and supportive care to children with special needs.
  • Organization and Time Management: The ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize responsibilities effectively.
  • Ability to Follow Instructions: The ability to follow instructions and work under the direction of a dentist.

Summary:

As a Dental Assistant, you will be integral to the dental team, providing essential support in delivering high-quality patient care. Your core skills in pediatric chairside assisting, dental terminology, and pediatric dentistry will enable you to assist with various procedures effectively. You will also utilize premium skills such as EMR systems (Eaglesoft) and X-ray techniques to enhance patient experience and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations. Strong communication skills are vital as you interact with patients and staff, fostering a welcoming environment while contributing to the overall success of the dental practice.
