Overview:

The Finance and Accounting Manager will lead and oversee the organization’s financial operations, driving accuracy, compliance, and strategic decision-making. This role involves managing budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and reporting while ensuring adherence to financial regulations and continuous process optimization. By providing financial insights and leadership, the Finance and Accounting Manager plays a key role in supporting Children's Factory’s operational and business objectives.


Key Responsibilities:

1. Financial Management:

  • Prepare, analyze, and present timely, accurate financial reports to leadership.
  • Conduct budgeting and forecasting to align financial plans with strategic goals.
  • Monitor financial performance, identify variances, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Establish and monitor standard costs, including materials, labor, overhead, and inventory.

2. Accounting Operations:

  • Oversee and execute month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and adjustments.
  • Ensure the accuracy and maintenance of financial statements with appropriate supporting documentation.
  • Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger tasks to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.

3. Reporting and Analysis:

  • Develop and maintain financial models and reports to support strategic decision-making.
  • Perform trend analysis and ad hoc financial reporting to support organizational goals.
  • Ensure timely preparation and submission of compliance-related reports, including tax filings and audit documents.

4. Compliance and Audit:

  • Maintain compliance with financial regulations and internal controls.
  • Lead external audit preparations by providing necessary data and documentation.
  • Implement audit recommendations to enhance financial systems and controls.

5. Strategic Contribution:

  • Collaborate with leadership to identify cost-saving opportunities and process improvements.
  • Provide financial insights to aid in short-term and long-term strategic planning.

6. Team Leadership and Collaboration:

  • Lead and mentor the finance and accounting team, promoting professional development.
  • Serve as a hands-on resource for complex financial matters and high-priority tasks.
  • Set performance objectives and hold the team accountable for meeting deliverables.

  • Maintain a proactive, solution-oriented approach to resolving challenges.
  • Uphold high levels of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism.
  • Foster effective communication and collaboration across departments.



Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in finance and accounting roles.
  • At least 3 years of experience in a managerial or leadership capacity.
  • CPA or CMA certification (preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial compliance.
  • Experience with manufacturing accounting principles.

  • Proficiency in financial software systems, ERP platforms, and advanced Excel.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Proven track record in managing high-performing teams.
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage tight deadlines and shifting priorities.
  • Experience with financial modeling, budgeting, and forecasting.

    • Physical Demands:
    • Sit for extended periods while working at a computer.
    • Occasionally lift and carry materials weighing up to 15 pounds.
    • Use standard office equipment such as computers, printers, and telephones.
    • Engage in verbal communication through in-person, telephone, or video conferencing.
    • Work Environment:
    • Office-based role with occasional travel for meetings, conferences, or site visits.
    • Standard business hours with flexibility to work additional hours during peak periods (e.g., month-end, year-end, or audits).
