Job Posting : Chief Financial Officer
Position Type : Full Time- Monday - Friday, 8 hours shifts

Position Overview :
The Chief Financial Officer is responsible for the organization’s financial operations and the Information Services, Facility, and Payroll functions.
As a key member of the senior leadership team, this position is responsible for establishing, communicating and adhering to a strategic vision and philosophy for the agency and ensuring alignment of the financial operations with that vision and philosophy.
This position requires translating broad organizational goals into actionable and achievable steps, helping set and manage appropriate expectations, handle detailed, complex concepts and problems and make rapid decisions regarding management and development issues. As a senior leader, it is expected that this person will establish strong, flexible and appropriate relationships with teammates, staff, board, families, vendors, partners, funders, state and federal representatives and the general community.
This role requires effective management of and meeting all deadlines : agency, state and federal; a flexible work schedule to meet the demands of the role and the ability to demonstrate initiative and teamwork. The Chief Financial Officer is required to maintain a professional image, uphold the organization’s reputation, and demonstrate a commitment to continuous professional growth.
Key Responsibilities :
- Responsible for planning, implementing, and operationalizing all business functions, including Finance, Accounting, Information, Facility, and Payroll.
Lead the budgeting, forecasting, long-term planning, implementation, and business strategic analysis of the financial team, including the direct supervision of the Vice President of Finance.
Oversee the optimization of all agency billing, including credentialing and partnerships with direct service areas to maximize revenue. Includes direct supervision of the Billing Manager.Oversee and support the strategic long-term goals, security, policies and procedures for the Information Services department, and supervises the CIO.Direct the design, construction, safety, upkeep and maintenance of all agency’s facilities and properties, and directly supervise the Facilities Manager.Ensure the effective and efficient operation of the Payroll function and collaboration with Talent, including the direct supervision of the Director of Payroll and HRIS.Development of financial strategy to support operational and strategic priorities.Responsible for developing the agency’s financial policies and procedures.
Ensuring appropriate and adequate safeguards and approvals are in place controlling agency commitments and expenditures.Responsible for developing budgets, multi-year forecasts, and long-range facilities and infrastructure plans based on growth and future needs, in accordance with the vision and strategic priority of the agency.Oversight of a cutting edge Human Resource Information System, which is both accurate and efficient.Effective forecasting and management of cash flow, optimizing working capital, and maintenance of adequate reserves.Strategically enhance financial performance & business opportunities.Develop strategies to achieve short- and long-term financial and operational goals and objectives.
Provide strategic direction of all financial functions including billing, accounting, budget, credit, insurance, tax, and treasury.Conduct financial analysis, modeling, forecasting and reporting to ensure efficient financial operations, and ensure that monthly financial statements are produced and distributed in a timely and accurate manner.Create functional strategies and specific objectives and develop budgets / policies / procedures to support the functional infrastructure.Develop and monitor systems to safeguard, protect and grow agency assets.Ensure that robust financial controls are in place and that financial and payroll transactions support the overall business strategy while conforming to applicable laws and regulations and funder requirements.
Ensure that the agency is protected through adequate insurance, tax, regulatory and license filings.Ensure a robust risk management system including policies, procedures, and scenario testing is developed, understood and practiced.Assess long-term systems needs and software / hardware acquisitions needed to accomplish the organization's business objectives.Actively work with the Finance Committee, CEO, and Investment Managers to manage, protect, and grow the agency’s endowment.Evaluate and advise on new programs, services, strategies, and actions.Analyze financial and operational results, develop insightful suggestions for investment, sourcing, cost reduction and lead strategic business decisions.
Operationally and strategically working effectively with the Chiefs on agency-wide initiatives.Lead and execute multiple high-impact initiatives to achieve overall agency goals.
Qualifications :
Master’s Degree in Business Administration or related field and / or CPA preferred.Operational leadership experience is required.10 years of previous accounting and supervisory experience is required.Proven success with executing strategic visions.The ability to collaborate with team leaders and external partners to find solutions in the agency’s best interest.Must be detail-oriented and have strong communication skills.Previous experience managing fiscal operations is required.Proven ability to interact with members of the community representing diverse backgrounds and interests is required.Successful candidates will be required to meet our pre-employment background screening requirements.Why Join Us?
