Summary:
This job is responsible for providing patient service assistance to Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy and Speech Language Pathology therapists. These functions are performed in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations and Children's Health philosophy, policies, procedures and standards
Responsibilities:
Assisting with patient treatment as needed to include focusing patient participation, exercise motivation, and physical movement/transportation of the patient. Preparing therapy area prior to treatment, disposing of used linens, and cleaning the therapy area after treatment. Assisting in special services such as wound care, video fluoroscopic swallow studies, casting and splinting. This may include physical set up, movement/transportation of patient, diverting patient attention if needed, and cleaning up after treatment.
Coordinating and prioritizing own schedule in relation to demands of patient treatment and other departmental responsibilities; Ordering linens and supplies, and advising supervisor of supply needs; maintaining therapeutic equipment and/or coordinating equipment service; transporting patients to/from rooms/gym as needed.
Assisting S/PAR staff as needed.
Assuming other duties and responsibilities that are appropriate to the position and area.
Ability to meet physical and non-physical demands as outlined in the job description
WORK EXPERIENCE
At least 1 year job related experience preferred EDUCATION
High school diploma or equivalent required LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS
Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers as required by CP 1.20 Life Support Course Requirements Req JOB PROFILE
Applies basic technical skills and knowledge of operational processes to perform straightforward and routine activities
Understands how the assigned duties integrate with others in the team
Depends on direct supervision to accomplish assigned tasks; accountable for developing own self to enhance contribution
Uses standard operating procedures to guide own work and solve standard problems; escalates unfamiliar or difficult problems to a more experienced colleagues
Responsible for the accuracy of own work
Works within clearly defined standard operating procedures or methods and adheres to established quality guidelines
Recognizes opportunities to provide good customer service and demonstrates courtesy in all interactions; effectively exchanges straightforward information
