This department operates 365 days a year, 24 hours a day 7 days, a week. Our ideal candidate is flexible, dependable, a team player, and committed to the Children's Health mission, "Making Lives Better for Children." As an Equipment Technician I, you will organize, track, stock, clean, and prepare medical supplies and equipment, such as IV pumps and ventilators, for use throughout the hospital and pavilion. This position does not require repairing or servicing any equipment and is NOT a biomedical or engineering role. You may be responsible for performing routine checks to ensure equipment is operating properly. In this position, you are expected to stand, lift, walk, and bend for extended periods of time during your scheduled shifts.

Responsibilities
- Organizes supply room. Maintains supplies to meet and maintain agreed upon par levels.
- Maintains equipment to ensure proper operating efficiency. Assesses need for repair/replacement or routine preventative maintenance. Maintains crash carts by restocking and outdating expired supplies.
- Coordinates repair and maintenance schedules with in-house departments, outside contractors, and/or vendors to ensure availability of equipment. Monitors equipment performance for higher-than-average failure rates or other trends.
- Maintains accurate, complete, detailed logs on the status of equipment and/or quality controls of equipment.
- Assists other personnel in achieving competency in equipment utilization. Complies with OSHA guidelines and universal precautions. Takes initiative to be aware of changes in guidelines.
- Assists in the development and maintenance of quality control and performance improvement programs.
- Makes recommendation during budget preparation for new equipment/repairs on existing equipment.
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
- For HTM department, work overnight and weekend on-call shifts as assigned.
Work Experience
- Less than 1 year Minimum 6 months related experience preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers as required by CP 1.20 Life Support Course Requirements preferred
