Summary
The Program Director NPC Risk & EHS is a critical onsite role supporting the New Pediatric Campus (NPC) Project. The Program Director will act as the primary liaison between the Owner's Project Management Team, the Construction Manager's Safety Team, and our Owner Controlled Insurance Program (OCIP) vendors, overseeing all aspects of risk management and Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) during the construction phase of the NPC Project. Director will be responsible for developing, monitoring, implementing, and improving OSHA, worksite and life safety initiatives; developing and implements processes and policies to comply with regulatory standards; and assist in developing safety training programs.

Director will be responsible for developing, monitoring, implementing, and improving OSHA, worksite and life safety initiatives; developing and implements processes and policies to comply with regulatory standards; and assist in developing safety training programs.
Responsibilities
- Establish a robust system for monitoring compliance with risk and safety policies and regulations, including OSHA, NFPA, and other relevant local, state, and federal standards.
- Provide Owner oversight of Construction Managers construction safety, road safety, occupational health and wellbeing, training/competence, compliance/inspection, risk reduction, culture/behavioral and improvement activities across the NPC project.
- Maintain relationships with internal organizations (CHST and UTSW), design teams, and contractor/subcontractor representatives to coordinate technical/scientific issues, new technologies, and ensuring integration of ES&H functional responsibilities into project design specifications, construction plans and schedules, and subcontractor bid packages.
- Conducts occasional Life Safety inspections of the NPC site, alongside the Owner Controlled Insurance Program (OCIP) vendors. Develops strategy for executing safety training for Owner-side site visitors. Works with NPC Team to ensure Life Safety drawings are within compliance, and develops solutions for deficiencies.
- Works in collaboration with other leaders to develop initiatives and procedures to oversee the construction-aspects of the OCIP and Workers-Comp safety teams, help maintain and promote a safe environment for Children's patients, visitors, vendors and employees and assists in the evaluating, inspecting, and surveying areas and activities to minimize potential risks.
How You’ll Be Successful:
- At least 10 years Construction Risk Management or Environmental Health & Safety experience required.
- Four-year Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience within Engineering, Construction Management, Occupational Health and Safety, or other related fields required.
- OSHA 30-Hour Construction required.
- 40 Hour HAZWOPER preferred.
