SUMMARY
Responsible for overseeing the IT infrastructure and ensuring the seamless operation of all server operating systems (Windows and Linux) including installations, configurations, system upgrades and patches. The role requires a blend of technical expertise and leadership skills while working with management and other technical experts from various teams on small to medium sized projects and during tier 2 and 3 troubleshooting efforts.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Install, configure, and maintain server operating systems (Windows and Linux).
- Manage servers, including application, database, web, and cloud servers.
- Implement system upgrades, patches, and backups.
- Monitor system performance and ensure high availability and reliability.
- Automate routine systemadministration tasks using scripting (e.g. PowerShell, Bash, Python).
- Manage virtualizationand cloudenvironments (VMware, Azure, Hyper-V).
- Provide Tier 2 / 3 technical support for complex issues
- Troubleshoot system problems, diagnosing and solving hardware / software faults.
- Support and mentor junior level system administrators and IT staff.
- Automate tasks to improve efficiency and reduce manual interventions.
- Create and maintain scripts for system maintenance and development.
- Maintain accurate documentation of system configurations, procedures and
processes.
