Job Description

Chaplain Residents function as a member of the spiritual care team to provide emotional / spiritual support to person(s) in crisis, experiencing trauma, and at end of life. In addition, Chaplain Residents provide emotional / spiritual support for staff within and across the Children’s Healthcare system. The one (1) year chaplain resident program is designed to equip chaplain residents with practical and interpersonal skills for using research, theology, behavioral sciences, and adult education to enhance their self-awareness, understanding of spiritual care, and their practice as a care responder.
Chaplain Residents are placed at Arthur M. Blank Hospital, where they have a unique opportunity to explore spiritual care in a pediatric hospital, with an emphasis on family dynamics, systems theory, and the holistic development of children.
Specialty care areas include :
- Aflac Cancer and Blood Disorders Center
- Emergency Department
- Heart Center
- Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)
- Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU)
- Solid Organ Transplant
- Technology-Dependent Intensive Care Unit (TICU)
