Job Description
Certified Peer Specialist - Parent (CPS-P) services are geared toward promoting self-empowerment of the child / adolescent and families presenting to our emergency departments for behavioral mental health concerns. The team member focuses on building respectful partnerships with families, identifying the needs of the child / adolescent, and helping them recognize self-efficacy while strengthening good communication within the families and good partnerships with communities.
The Parent Peer Support Specialist performs the service within the scope of their knowledge, lived experience, and education. The position involves engaging individuals, providing linkage to community resources, assisting with discharge planning, and providing direct services and may include sharing one's own personal journey to encourage and inspire others as they continue on their own recovery journey.
Experience
