Part-Time Position : 6 Hours per Week
POSITION SUMMARY :
Assists family center or other Akin direct service program in implementation of events, newsletter support, volunteers, and other center activities. Assists in outreach efforts to ensure involvement of culturally diverse community. Has access to protected healthcare information (PHI) or confidential identifiable information (CII), both paper and electronic, as necessary, to perform related job duties and responsibilities.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
- Assists in coordinating schedules and / or facilitates workshops, classes, special events, and other activities for a Akin direct service program
- Assists in meeting / event setup, including preparation and cleanup assistance
- Assists in special projects and other responsibilities, as requested and / or assigned
- Assists in collaborating with partner agencies to promote awareness of Akin programs
- Provides information and referral support, maintain resource lists, and minimal case management with center participants
- Assists with coordination of volunteers, including recruiting volunteers, assigning duties, and maintaining paperwork
- Performs other duties as assigned by Supervisor

High school diploma with two years relevant experience in community education, program assistance or social servicesExperience working with volunteers which reflects progressive responsibilities in recruitment, screening, and placementA one-step Mantoux TB skin test prior to start of employment. For those who have previously tested positive, documented proof of treatment from a doctor or a negative chest x-ray must be providedCPR and First Aid upon hire or within 30 days of hireRequires Agency Affiliated Counselor credential after hireHIV / AIDS and Blood borne Pathogens training required – within 30 daysMay require food handler’s license, if so, required within 30 days of hireSuccessful completion of a criminal background checkSuccessful completion of a drivers check if position requires driving on a regular basis (at least three times per week) or drives employees. Must not have more than two driving incidents within the last three yearsSALARY RANGE AND BENEFITS :
The salary range for this position is $20.91- $27.18. The starting salary range for this position is $20.91 - $22.48 DOE for external candidates.
