What are the responsibilities and job description for the Social Worker II - Ocean Reunification Program position at Children's Home Society?
Overview
Be a part of a team that supports children and families by reducing risk factors for abuse and neglect and supporting healthy connections! The goal of the CHSofNJ Ocean Reunification Program is to support the permanency planning for children and families engaged with the child welfare system. Staff have opportunities for advanced clinical trainings, clinical supervision towards licensure at no cost, and a flexible and supportive work environment.
Work Location: 1433 Hooper Avenue, Toms River, New Jersey
Schedule: 35 Hours Per Week
Signing Bonus: $5000.00
Responsibilities
- Support an average caseload of 8 families.
- Provide weekly individual and /or couples’ counseling to parents whose children are in foster care, as well as therapeutic visits for the parent and child.
- Co-facilitate parenting groups that are geared towards identifying and resolving the issues that resulted in placement in out of home care.
- Partner with DCP&P and other organizations to ensure clients have access to necessary resources.
- Monitor parents’ progress with services and overall stability in order to assist DCP&P in supporting a permanent plan for the child.
Qualifications
Education Requirements:
Master’s Degree from an accredited school of social work, a Licensed Social Worker, Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Associate Counselor, or Licensed Clinical Social Worker.
Work Experience Requirement: Must have a minimum of three to five years’ experience working successfully with at risk families in an accredited social service agency. Experience working successfully with families engaged with the child welfar system.
