The Children's Home is looking for a Foster Care Home Finder to support children and families in Cortland County, NY!!
Job Summary: The Home Finder will conduct aggressive and accountable foster and adoptive home recruitment activities, and will provide direct training and training opportunities to foster parents and prospective foster and adoptive parents. The Home Finder will provide supervision and counseling to foster parents and foster family members concerning fostering children, dealing with needs and challenges identified through the treatment planning process and developing foster parent development plans. The Home Finder will work with the Director and Assistant Director to provide training to meet the needs of program staff and foster parents.
Job Responsibilities:
- Ensure the standards of a high performing team member are role modeled on a daily basis and that all supervisees including foster parents are accountable to performing at the same standard.
- Confer regularly with the Director and Workers on individual and group progress.
- Participate consistently in teamwork inter and intra departmentally including involvement in cross program projects.
- Complete required reports and documentation in a timely manner meeting all standards of content and professional presentation.
- Ensure timely, accurate recording of all components of foster parent records and FAD.
- Establish and maintain regular contact with foster families.
- Provide foster and adoptive home recruitment and retention activities, training, and counseling.
- Ensure that Agency standards of practice as well as State, Federal and Accreditation standards are fully met. Exceed those standards wherever possible and practical.
- Assist the Director in the management and administration of the Foster Care Program.
- Assume responsibility for program administration in the Director’s absence and provide ongoing assistance to the program staff, Director, and foster parents as needed.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in human services from an accredited college or university is required.
- 3 - 5 years' experience working in human services and/or foster care preferred.
Relevant Knowledge & Essential Skills: Must demonstrate the ability to work effectively with clients, families, staff, and community contacts with a diversity of backgrounds and life situations. Experience in the principles and practices of the inter-disciplinary team approach is preferred. Time management, strong written and verbal communication, problem solving, and organizational skills required. Knowledge of issues related to children in care, Family Centered Practice and foster family care. Must have a valid driver’s license and minimum insurability requirements during employment. Working knowledge of computers required.

Pay: $21.00 - $23.00 per hour
