Position Summary: The Children's Home is seeking a Volunteer Coordinator to manage our volunteer and internship program.
The Volunteer Coordinator plays a pivotal role in enhancing the organization's volunteer program by overseeing the recruitment, initial phases of on boarding, and overall management of volunteers. This position requires a dynamic leader who is outgoing and shares a passion for community service. The volunteer coordinator will demonstrate ability to cultivate relationships with diverse groups of people. The ideal candidate will be highly self-motivated, organized, community-oriented, and creative.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Training Department to implement training programs for volunteers to ensure they are well-prepared and informed.
- Lead recruitment initiatives that are centered on attracting new volunteers and interns by fostering partnerships with local educational institutions.
- Manage volunteer database to track volunteer activities and engagement.
- Lead efforts in recruiting volunteers through various channels, including social media platforms, community events, and outreach programs.
- Collaborate with program directors to coordinate volunteer schedules.
- Foster a positive and inclusive environment for volunteers and interns by providing ongoing support, feedback, and recognition.
- Collaborate with other departments to identify volunteer needs and opportunities within the organization.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of volunteer programs, making recommendations for improvements as necessary.
- Demonstrate strong leadership with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse group of volunteers and interns.
Education:
- Associates Degree
- Bachelors Degree in Communications, Human Services
Experience:
- At least 6 months to 1 year of proven experience in volunteer or internship management or related experience
- 6 months to 1 year of proven experience demonstrating a strong commitment to community service
- Some knowledge or experience with children and family services
- Driver's License
