Join our growing Mental Health Department at Children's Minnesota as a casual program therapist . This is a casual call position that would work primarily within our partial hospitalization programs in Roseville and Lakeville.
The position may provide individual, family and group therapy, case management and assessment services, depending on the coverage that is required. The program therapist works within a multi-disciplinary team to provide comprehensive services to patients and families that are experiencing acute mental health concerns.
Depending on coverage needed, the Casual Program Therapist provides services to patients and families that are experiencing acute mental health concerns - Services may include case management, assessment services, provide individual, group, or family therapy services, crisis intervention services, resource mobilization, triage of psychosocial, emotional, or behavioral concerns.
Collaborate with other members of the multi-disciplinary care team to develop treatment goals, assess performance towards goals, and complete discharge or transition planning as indicated.
- Weekday shifts, Monday - Friday, during the hours of 8AM-4 : 30 PM are available
Casual positions have no set schedule. Shift availability depends on current staffing levels, sick time, maternity leave, vacations, etc. Picking up a minimum of 2 shifts per month is required. Cross training will be provided for the Lakeville and Roseville PHPs, and if interested, the inpatient unit in St. Paul.
Department Overview
The Acute Mental Health department at Children's Minnesota includes our partial hospitalization programs as well as the inpatient mental health unit in St. Paul. These programs provide short term, stabilization services for children and adolescents experiencing acute mental health concerns. These intensive services are designed to address mental health symptoms that pose a safety risk or significant impact to the child or adolescent's daily functioning.
The Lakeville partial hospitalization program is designed to serve adolescents, ages 11-18 and the Roseville partial hospitalization program is designed to serve both children and adolescents, ages 6-18. Partial hospitalization programs are mental health day programs which function similar to inpatient mental health units, however, allow patients to return home at the end of the program day. The inpatient mental health unit in St. Paul serves both children and adolescents, ages 6-18. This unit is for patients that have immediate safety concerns that require 24 / 7 psychiatric care.

Experience Preferred :
One year of work experience as a program therapist or similar experience providing counseling in a health care or related pediatric setting (will consider clinical internship experience in lieu of formal work experience).
