We enable and collaborate jointly with BCH physician-scientists to develop solutions in support of cutting-edge research ranging from lattice light-sheet microscopy to CryoEM, genomics, and bioinformatics.
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Research Informatics Consultant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in informatics, data science, and research methodologies. This role involves working closely with researchers to develop and implement informatics solutions that support their scientific goals.
The Research Informatics Consultant shall be responsible for :
Collaborating with researchers to understand their data analysis needs.
Supporting the complex portfolio of research informatics projects at BCH, including project reporting and quality control.
Developing and implementing informatics solutions to support research projects.
Providing expertise in data integration, visualization, and interpretation.
Assisting in the design and execution of data workflows and pipelines.
Helping researchers connect with the right teams and experts within our organization.
Working with team members to refine the portfolio of our services.
Refining and maintaining user-facing documentation pages.
Conducting training sessions and workshops for researchers on informatics tools and best practices.
Staying updated with the latest advancements in informatics and related technologies.
Troubleshooting and resolving informatics-related issues in research projects.
Documenting and communicating project progress and outcomes to stakeholders.
To qualify you must have :
At least 4-year Bachelor’s degree or 4-years of experience. A minimum of one year of position-specific experience.
Preference for candidates with prior strong computational biology exposure, potentially through completion of a PhD program.
Proven experience in research informatics or a similar role.
Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or SQL.
Strong understanding of data management, analysis, and visualization techniques.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
Strong communication and presentation skills.
Experience with informatics tools and platforms is a plus.
