A Brief Overview
To facilitate quality patient care by performing radiological exams, perform phlebotomy, and simple laboratory exams as requested. Renders appropriate care specific to the patient, to ensure understanding and comfort level of treatment, as outlined in the age specific criteria.
Essential Functions
Performs initial patient / family intake as outlined in specific standards in an appropriate time frame.
- Prepares patient rooms for admission.
- Collects initial and ongoing data on patients as directed by the RN using the clinic standards to provide baseline information for the plan of care and documents.
- Demonstrates age-specific competency in data collection of patients by the ability to obtain and interpret information in terms of the patient needs, knowledge of growth and development, and understanding of the range of treatment needed by these patients.
- Facilitates patient flow under the direction of the RN.
- Reports information to the appropriate person(s) in an appropriate time frame and documents data accurately.
Performs routine radiographic examinations as requested by physicians to facilitate diagnosis in accordance with department procedure manual; technique charts; and initial patient assessment to include the following :
Implements care activities according to Physician / RN direction in order to facilitate improvement in patient's condition.
Performs or assists with unit tests and procedures accurately and in a timely manner as directed by the RN, documents and reports results.
Performs routine lab examinations as requested by the physician to facilitate diagnosis in accordance with department policy and procedure manual. Collects specimens and operates laboratory equipment in accordance with established policy to perform procedure requested.
