A Brief Overview
This role will join the highly innovative and collaborative Data Literacy Program within CHOP's Data and Analytics team. With the digitization of healthcare and the need to use data to improve processes and patient outcomes, the Data Literacy program's mission is to help every employee speak the language of data with confidence. The program is responsible for data related training and learning such as curated training programs, workshops, analytics communities of practice and cohort-based learning experiences.
The audience for these data literacy initiatives are health care providers and support staff in a rapidly changing, fast paced health care setting. This role requires the ability to learn and adapt quickly, collaborate with peers and data subject matter experts as well as work with a variety of stakeholders with different data literacy needs and requirements and demonstrate an understanding of data and analytics.
This entry level role into Data Literacy will be responsible for tasks such as class and workshop facilitation, data enthusiast community building/facilitation, instructional design and development and data expertise. Their passion for teaching and love of data will help the organization - from clinicians to executives - become more data literate.

What you will do
- 10% strategic
- Help build and expand the vision and of CHOP's Data Literacy program in conjunction with the Data Literacy leadership.
- Develop a thorough understanding of learning objectives, then determine how to leverage design and technology to achieve and deliver on those objectives. - 20% operational
- Performs discovery and suitability assessment of existing educational resources (within and outside the enterprise) for specific assigned instructional topics. Expands upon the existing base of educational materials into sustainable Data Literacy resources that can be leveraged across the organization and span multiple learner personas.
- Participate in Data Literacy marketing events, such as speaking engagements, blog posts, and other creative channels that support the promotion of the Data Literacy Program.
-Assists in the administration of educational plans and implementation of large-scale data training initiatives for data users across CHOP. - 70% tactical
- Gain in-depth knowledge of customer needs and learning challenges by conducting user interviews.
- Improve existing or lead the development of new Data Literacy products (courses, curriculum, learning modules, learning personas) based on emerging need or new data best practices.
- Use instructional design best practices and tools to create trainings and meet the learners where they are in their data literacy journey.
- Proactively partner with data subject matter experts across the enterprise to develop, revise and/or validate training content.
- Weekly to daily delivery or facilitation of virtual and in-person training on data literacy topics to diverse learning communities, from support staff to clinical workers and executives.
- Build trusting relationships with data learners that meets them where they are and empowers them to continue to grow in their profession.
- Conducts pilot tests and make continuous product improvements to material based upon pilots, reviews, and other formative evaluations.
- Delight our learners across the enterprise and ensure that we are constantly improving the learners' experience.
The department works 80% remotely, 20% on site in our Philadelphia offices on an as-needed basis.
Education Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree Computational, mathematical or science-related field or a data-related background Required
- Master's Degree Business, education, data science, computational, mathematical or science-related field or public health Preferred
Experience Qualifications
- At least two (2) years Experience in data and analytics including data science, data analytics, statistical programming, data integration, data management, biostatistics, software development, etc. (or education equivalent) Required and
- At least one (1) year Experience in training and supervision, instructional design, classroom instruction, eLearning, curriculum development, etc. Required or
- At least one (1) year Experience in visual and instructional design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Camtasia, Vyond, Captivate, Articulate, Storyline, etc. Preferred or
- Instructional design methodologies, E-learning strategies, LMS management, computer-based training development skills Preferred and
Skills and Abilities
- Demonstrated appreciation of diversity and affinity for interacting with people of varying backgrounds and perspectives (Required proficiency)
- Energetic presenter, comfortable engaging large groups of learners in professional workshops and training sessions. (Required proficiency)

Licenses and Certifications
- Instructional Design Certification - Various - within 6 months - Required
