Job Summary : The Laboratory Supervisor is responsible for clinical leadership, staff training and quality of patient results within the laboratory section, in this case in the area of Hematology (including Rt. Coagulation & Urinalysis), Chemistry. Position Requirements : Education : B.S. in medical technology or science, Master's Degree preferred. Licensure : Current CA Medical Technologist license Experience : 6 years of laboratory experience Knowledge, Skills and Abilities : Must possess good human relations and oral and written communication skills to accomplish tasks through delegation of work to people. Must be highly flexible and adaptable to handle all kinds of situations. Must possess expert knowledge of procedures, instruments and quality assurance within laboratory specialty. Must possess the ability to use this knowledge to teach others. Must be able to assist in problem solving, improve workflow and systems, and implement new technologies. Physical Requirements : Sit : Up to 8 hours / day Stand / Walk : Up to 6 hours Bend / Stoop : Up to 6 hours Reach : Up to 6 hours Rep Use of UE : Up to 8 hours Lift / Push / Pull : 25 lbs, over 25# with assistance or equipment This job requires the ability to hear alarms, clients and / or instruction.
