Department Overview Our Minneapolis 7th floor is a 33-bed pediatric unit that provides care to infants, children and young adults in the areas of hematology, oncology, general medical / surgical care and patients needing behavioral crisis monitoring. Our team of dedicated professionals specializes in care of patients with hematology and oncology diseases, including new diagnosis, transfusions, chemotherapy administration, central line maintenance and end-of-life care. Our 7th floor staff also care for general medical / surgical patients, particularly those with non-infectious illnesses in order to maintain a clean environment for our patients with weakened immune systems. We utilize three inpatient rooms to support patients who need behavioral crisis monitoring. Our patients have an average length of stay ranging from a few days up to months depending on the diagnosis, monitoring and treatment the patient is receiving. We work collaboratively with our outpatient hematology / oncology clinic to coordinate ongoing chemotherapy treatment and system management. Position Summary The patient care manager (PCM) has overall responsibility for ensuring that services and programs provided through their assigned department / unit is child and family focused, clinically appropriate, operationally efficient, and achieves effective patient outcomes. The PCM will directly manage RN staff and assist in leadership of clinical support staff. License / Certification / Registration :

• Active RN on Minnesota Board of Nursing required
• Current BLS required Education :
• Bachelor's degree in nursing required Experience :
• 3 years of people leadership experience or advanced degree in nursing leadership in lieu of experience.
• Informal leadership experience is preferred (charge RN, clinical educator, preceptor, etc.). Knowledge / Skills / Abilities :
• Fundamental understanding of the business side of assigned department / unit (P&L, finance, budget, etc.).
• Availability for on-call and off-hours rotations / situations as decided by department / unit.
