As a Residential Care Specialist I, you will help aid in the supervision and care of domestic violence victims and their children. The Residential Care Specialist I will help provide a trauma informed environment for victims through a team-based and relational approach. This position will play a crucial role in ensuring the shelter operates smoothly and efficiently.

As a Residential Care Specialist II, you will help aid in the supervision and care of domestic violence victims and their children. The Residential Care Specialist II will help provide a trauma informed environment for victims through a team-based and relational approach. This position will play a crucial role in ensuring the shelter operates smoothly and efficiently. The Residential Counselor II will have additional duties and increased responsibilities that may include supporting various aspects of daily operations and enhancing client care services as needed.

This position will be from Wednesday - Sunday, 2 : 00 p.m. - 11 : 00 p.m.

Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Document interventions and services provided in ServicePoint
  • Support the needs and provide general guidance to clients
  • Participate in case staffing as needed
  • Assist clients in daily activities
  • Assist with children / care as needed
  • Review end-of-day emails and incident reports to remain updated on current situations
  • Facilitate shelter intake and exit procedures and paperwork
  • Maintain medication log during intake and continually track usage
  • Cleaning duties include operating the dishwasher, washing dishes, sweeping, mopping, turning over resident rooms, dusting, sterilizing with Lysol, and doing laundry
  • Maintain closet and shed organization / maintenance
  • Help build and tear down shelter equipment and newly purchased items as needed
  • Intake and process donations and in-kind supplies
  • Assist in the implementation of Family Fun Night, Self-Care Saturday, holidays and resident birthdays
  • Assist with non-Peer Support client transportation
  • Provide Crisis Hotline coverage (may include nights, evenings and weekends)

Residential Care Specialist II shall perform all the above duties in addition to :

  • Execute House Meetings
  • Food inventory and shopping
  • Plan and implement holidays and resident birthdays alongside Child Enrichment Specialists & Residential Care Staff, if needed
  • Create welcome care packages for residents
  • Print, track and design sign-up sheets for groups to help build excitement, encourage engagement and offer childcare to residents
  • Assist in training and mentoring junior staff through shadowing and hands-on side-by-side training sessions
  • Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :

  • Knowledge of Trauma informed principles preferred
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and crisis intervention skills
  • Ability to work with multidisciplinary team
  • Knowledge of relevant laws and resources
  • Ability to learn and utilize proprietary software systems
  • Education and Experience :

    Residential Care Specialist I

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Valid CDL required
  • Basic Computer Skills
  • Previous experience working with survivors of domestic violence or trauma preferred
  • Six months of experience providing personal care, managing housekeeping tasks, advocating for client services, coordinating appointments or lived experience to be able to support and guide clients effectively
  • Bilingual preferred
  • Residential Care Specialist II

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Valid CDL required
  • Basic Computer Skills
  • Previous experience working with survivors of domestic violence or trauma preferred
  • At least 1 years' experience as a Residential Counselor II
  • Bilingual preferred
  • Physical Requirements :

  • Frequent use of arms, hands, and fingers for tasks such as assisting residents, typing, or operating facility equipment
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods during resident interactions, meetings, or when performing care-related tasks
  • Capable of lifting up to 25 lbs as required for assisting residents, handling supplies, or managing equipment
  • Requires manual dexterity for tasks like typing, using office equipment, or assisting with client needs
  • to operate office equipment such as printers, copiers, and scanners as part of daily responsibilities
  • Ability to work effectively in busy, dynamic environments, typical in residential care settings
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, and reach for tasks like filing, organizing, cleaning, or assisting with client needs
  • Rate of Pay :

    Full Time, non-exempt

    20.00 - $21.00

    Residential Care Specialist II

    21.50 - $23.50
