General Support position provides assistance and clerical support to the frontline management team. The Administrative Assistant – General Support, while specifically supporting the Center Director also acts as a first point of contact for all callers and guests of Children’s Lighthouse.
I. Experience/Education
- Maintains the state in-service training requirements
- Ability to communicate and motivate others
- Consistently follows through with all assignments
- Excellent role model to other teachers
- Is proficient in Excel, Word, and Microsoft Publishing
- Prefer experience in ProCare
- Maintains CPR and First Aid certification
II. Key Responsibilities and Expectations:
- Completes the Administrative Checklist daily
- Posts all payments and makes daily deposits
- Takes major responsibility in collecting tuition and fees on a weekly basis
- Maintains AR’s at 5% or lower each week
- Maintains children’s files and maintains a 90% completion rate at all times
- Conduct periodic safety inspections of building and grounds
- Take prompt corrective action wherever unsafe conditions or acts are noted or reported
- Monitor/train/assign the use of cleaning solutions and materials in classrooms
- Monitor/train/assign the cleanliness of playground and parking lots
- Monthly:
- Check first aid kits in rooms, entry and buses and update appropriately
- Check fire extinguishers and document
- Assist in conduction of fire drill
- Conduct safety check of classrooms, playground toys and equipment
- Consistently follows through with all duties and miscellaneous duties as assigned in a competent and timely manner.
- Ensures day to day operations are in compliance with recommendations by CLFC.
- Wise productive use of time.
- Able to accept and handle change.
- Able to work hours between 6:00 am and 7:00 pm.
III. Specific Duties
- Fills in classrooms and/or kitchen as needed to maintain coverage
- Completes and checks bus runs as assigned and necessary
- Ensures efficient management of telephone calls and is able to turn 75% of inquiry calls to tour
- Assists and/or creates calendars, newsletters, memos and social media as assigned
- Participates in activities of professional and personal growth to maximized opportunity for succession within management

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $34,000.00 - $40,000.00 per year
