Our preschool program offers a foundation of academic and social skills that set the stage for lifelong learning. We are looking for a compassionate, enthusiastic, and dedicated Assistant Teacher to join our team and help support our 4-year-old students.
Hours: 9am-6pm
Pay Range: $14.00-$16.00
Position Overview:
The Preschool 4-Year-Old Assistant Teacher works closely with the lead teacher to create a positive, enriching, and safe learning environment for young children. This individual will assist with daily classroom activities, provide individualized support, and help foster the social, emotional, and cognitive development of the students. The ideal candidate will have a passion for early childhood education and a love for working with young children.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the lead teacher with lesson planning and daily classroom activities.
- Support students in developing social skills, emotional regulation, and classroom routines.
- Provide one-on-one or small group support for children as needed.
- Encourage creative play, exploration, and curiosity.
- Monitor and document children’s progress and behavior.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized classroom.
- Communicate effectively with parents and staff about student progress and needs.
- Help supervise children during snack times, play times, and outdoor activities.
- Participate in school events and staff meetings as required.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associates or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred.
- Experience working with children ages 3-5 in a preschool or daycare setting preferred.
- Knowledge of early childhood development principles and practices.
- Strong communication, organizational, and teamwork skills.
- Patience, creativity, and a positive, caring attitude toward young children.
- Ability to pass a background check and meet state licensing requirements.
