Position Summary
The Director Epic Application - Clinical is responsible for the planning, implementation, and operations of Epic applications within the clinical environment, including ancillary, inpatient and ambulatory solutions. This role involves providing leadership and expertise to ensure the stability and continuity of the organization's critical IT applications. The Director will oversee the development, support, and optimization of key IT applications, ensuring they meet the strategic goals of the organization. The Director will collaborate closely with clinical division leadership and staff.
Management responsibility for planning, implementation and operations of applicable applications. Performs leadership functions of planning, organizing and managing staff and overall operations to ensure stability and continuity of the organization's critical IT applications. Provides application expertise to meet organization strategic goals and complex problem resolution. Successfully balances management and roles requiring individual contributor expertise. Oversees an operating budget and manages large capital projects and budgets.
Ensures the development, support and optimization of key IT applications. Designs and implements short and long term strategic plans to ensure application capacity and capabilities meets existing and future requirements. Participates in the development of IT strategy in collaboration with the IT leadership team. Works with IT teams to conduct research and make recommendations on applications, services, integration, and standards in support of all application systems procurement, implementation and integration efforts. Prepares RFPs, bid proposals, contract, scope of works reports and other documentation for projects and associated efforts. Negotiates with vendors and consultants to secure application systems products and services. Partners with business units to create applications roadmap and establishes service level agreements.
Manages and sets priorities for the design, maintenance, development and evaluation of all application systems. Ensures the success of new implementations by overseeing selection processes and ensuring adequate test processes are defined. Defines performance metrics for major application systems and develops strategies for maintain performance.
Establishes and maintains regular written and in-person communications with organizational leadership, innovation, stakeholders, department heads and end users regarding pertinent systems activities.

The posted salary represents a market competitive range based on salary survey benchmark data for similar roles in the local or national market. When determining individual pay rates, we carefully consider a wide range of factors including but not limited to market indicators for the specific role, the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate, internal equity and organizational needs.
In addition to your salary, this position may be eligible for medical, dental, vision, retirement, and other fringe benefits. Positions that require night, weekend or on-call work may be eligible for shift differentials or premium pay.

License/Certification/Registration:
- Epic certification(s) are required and are unique for each position. All relevant, required certification program(s) should begin no later than one month after the employee's start date. Once the certification program has commenced, employees must obtain their certification(s) within three months. Relevant certification must be maintained ongoing.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field required.
- Master's degree in related field preferred.
- 10 years experience in related IT field.
- 10 years direct management/supervisory experience leading an applications team required.
- Experience with healthcare clinical/revenue//EHR software applications required
- Project management experience required.
- Strong management and problem resolution skills required to oversee a diverse application systems teams working in a complex health care environment.
- Strong knowledge of clinical systems, revenue systems or other applicable systems.
- Proven experience in IT systems planning and development, strategic planning collaboration with business leaders, and knowledge of health care futures.
- Strong budget management skills to manage a large operational budget and yearly large capital projects.
- Strong understanding of human resource management principles, practices, and procedures.
- Strong understanding of project management principles.
