Department Overview The Chaplaincy department provides support to families, spiritual assessment and working with families experiencing a crisis. In addition, the serve as an outreach to community clergy, facilitate in religious rituals in the hospital (I.e. baptism) and provide support to staff. Position Summary Provide spiritual and emotional support to children, families, and staff. Coordinate patient/family visits with community spiritual leaders and facilitate rituals as needed. Ability to provide inter-faith care to patients and families. Specialized Chaplains (ex. muslim, shaman, American Indian spiritual leader, Buddhist etc.) will support the patient population they represent in addition to interfaith patient needs, as requested. Additional details: The staff chaplain role will primarily cover weekday spiritual care gaps at the Minneapolis campus. The chaplain will be onsite 3-4 days a week, focusing on critical care cases in the PICU, including trauma, NICU, and surgical cases. Qualifications:
A graduate-level theological degree from a college, university or theological school accredited by a member of the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or appropriate theological training recognized by one's faith tradition. Minimum of four units of clinical pastoral education (CPE). Provide documentation of current endorsement and/or ordination or letter of good standing in accordance with the requirements of one's own faith tradition. One-year hospital experience preferably with children. Board certification for chaplains preferred. The posted pay range represents rates for a grouping of multiple jobs within a salary grade. We carefully consider a wide range of factors including but not limited to market indicators for the specific role, the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate, and organizational needs. Base pay is just one piece of the total rewards program offered by Children’s Minnesota.
