Position Summary The Surgical Quality Program Manager (SQPM) provides program development and evaluation, project management, strategic direction, management, and program promotion for the American College of Surgeons' (ACS) Surgical Verification Program, including the ACS NSQIP Pediatric Program. The SQPM will facilitate, manage and integrate the multidisciplinary quality review of children's surgical care from admission to discharge. The SQPM will promote and support efforts to improve the six domains of quality within the surgical and perioperative environments. This role partners directly with the Medical Director of Surgical Quality and will develop close working relationships with the operational, nursing, and provider practice leaders within the perioperative and surgical teams. The SQPM will report to the Manager, Quality and Patient Safety within the Value and Clinical Excellence Department (VCE). The SQPM will partner with other leaders within VCE to leverage and integrate VCE resources, including methodologic (e.g. performance improvement, change management) and clinical (e.g. safety, patient experience, health equity, clinical effectiveness) expertise, to support and drive surgical quality efforts. The SQPM will manage the staff that supports key measurement and reporting responsibilities for the surgical quality programs, for example, the ACS surgical verification program processes.

Qualifications:

License/Certification/Registration required? *RN license preferred, but candidates with appropriate experience supporting clinical care delivery environments will be considered. Education: *Bachelor's degree required; preferably in a health care related field *Master's degree in a health care related field preferred Experience: *Educational preparation and relevant clinical experience in the care/care delivery of patients with surgical needs *3-5 years experience in direct clinical care or in support of direct clinical care *2-3 years clinical or operational leadership/management or improvement experience preferably with some pediatric surgery focus *Familiarity with improvement and change management methodologies *Subject matter expertise in a specific quality domain welcomed (e.g. safety) *Strong interpersonal skills to drive collaborative efforts, including hearing and interpreting input from a variety of stakeholders and being able to translate information back to multidisciplinary audiences *Excellent communication skills - precise, concise verbal and written skills, active listener, responsiveness to other people's messages. Able to present and summarize topics succinctly *Tactical execution - ability to develop and implement against a plan with specific metrics and deliverables *Evidence of ability to use analytic tools and thinking to solve complex problems by clarifying specific steps and organizing a plan to systematically address the situation *Portfolio management experience - ability to drive results on multiple efforts simultaneously *Ability to motivate teams - ability to develop trust among workgroups and teams *Commitment to/experience in driving an equitable, diverse and inclusive organization through internal practices and in service of patients The posted salary represents a market competitive range based on salary survey benchmark data for similar roles in the local or national market. When determining individual pay rates, we carefully consider a wide range of factors including but not limited to market indicators for the specific role, the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate, internal equity and organizational needs. In addition to your salary, this position may be eligible for medical, dental, vision, retirement, and other fringe benefits. Positions that require night, weekend or on-call work may be eligible for shift differentials or premium pay.
