What are the responsibilities and job description for the Staff Chaplain - PRN (As Needed) - DC position at Children's National Hospital?
The Staff Chaplain will provide Interfaith pastoral / spiritual care to patients, families, and staff in crisis situations when Hospital Staff Chaplain(s) are not available.
The On Call Staff Chaplain position provides coverage during nights, weekends and holidays. The schedule is variable. When requested, the PRN Staff Chaplain provides spiritual care to families, patients, and staff. Weekend coverage includes 4 hours in hospital.
Qualifications : Minimum Education
Religious training or education equivalent to a seminary / divinity school degree; preferably at the M.Div level (to be determined by the Senior
Chaplain / Manager of Pastoral and Spiritual Care.) Four units of Clinical Pastoral Education accredited by the Association of Clinical Pastoral
Education (acpe.edu) or equivalent in terms of training expectations and objectives (to be determined by the Senior Chaplain / Manager of Pastoral
and Spiritual Care). (Required)
Minimum Work Experience
1 year Four units of Clinical Pastoral Education (1600 hours of training under supervision), preferable by an accredited program of the Association of
Clinical Pastoral Education (acpe.edu) or equivalent in terms of training expectation and objectives, completed satisfactorily. One year experience in pediatric chaplaincy (may be met through a clinical pastoral education residency). (Required)
