The RN Program Manager, will plan, implement, manage, and evaluate activities for the Conway Nursing Pathway Program at Children's National Medical Center according to national standards and administrative policies. Assist the Director in developing, implementing, and evaluating services, programs, policies, procedures, and performance standards to achieve a human-centered approach to accomplish the nursing transition to practice program goals.

Community Outreach: Collaborate with academic institutions, community affairs, workforce development to schedule community events and ensure promotional items are available.

Project Management: Create innovative project plans with milestones, deliverables, and accountability assignments for recruiting and retaining Conway Nursing Pathfinders

Program Evaluation & Enhancement: Provide oversight for clinical and learning experience and develop evaluation tools with the Director to measure program outcomes and monitor monthly performance reports and budget variances, resolving discrepancies.

Grants Management: Assist in preparing reports and expense statements for director approval and monitor special purpose funds performance reports .

Minimum Education
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (Required)
Master's Degree in nursing or healthcare program (Preferred)

Minimum Work Experience
5 years minimum work experience, demonstrating progressive work-related responsibility and growth (Required)

Required Skills/Knowledge
Strong interpersonal, operations, and program management skills.
Excellent written and oral communications skills.
Comfortable challenging organizational norms and accepted thinking to improve effectiveness.
Possesses a working knowledge of nursing workforce trends and technologies.

Required Licenses and Certifications
Registered Nurse Licensed to practice in District of Columbia Upon Hire (Required)

Basic Life Support for Healthcare Provider (BLS) Upon Hire (Required)

Program Operations and Outcomes

  • Assess and prioritize initiatives using qualitative and quantitative data sources that are representative of the nursing workforce
  • Develop program strategy in alignment with organizational strategy, division/departmental strategy and short/long-term goals.
  • Leverage data driven strategy for monitoring, evaluating, and reporting initiatives
  • Develop program budget, and monitor and adjust plan as resource requirements change
  • Advocate for material, financial, and human resources to ensure program sustainability

  • Utilize data to identify opportunities, implement change and improve outcomes
  • Support research efforts to discover new knowledge and implement evidence-based improvement initiatives
  • Ensure that initiatives are guided by the best available science and evidence
  • Leverage modern technologies to support efficiency
  • Innovate through internal and external collaborations to develop, design, and implement new ideas/ solutions to advance strategies
  • Disseminate new knowledge from innovation, research, and quality improvement outcomes at local, state, and national conferences and through scholarly publication

  • Escalate any concerns or issues to Nursing Director and seek guidance as appropriate
