MISSION STATEMENT
The Children’s Network of Southwest Florida is committed to working with the community to protect children and preserve families.
General Purpose of Job
Support clients engaged in the dependency system. Work in conjuncture with the independent living case management staff to support client progress in the independent living programs.
QUALIFICATIONS

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Support clients in their efforts to complete all independent living related tasks
- Act as a resource to youth and young adults as they engage the community for formal and informal supports
- Arrange for and/or provide transportation of young adults as needed
- Participate in staffings and court hearings as needed
- Participate in the quality improvement process
- Adherence of all data collection into automated systems including FSFN
- Document scanning and data entry into appropriate systems including FSFN and ASK
- Provide appropriate modeling techniques, education, and other supportive services as delineated in service plan
- Assist Case Manager or Counselor in providing case management support services (i.e., information, assessments, referral and linkages
- Monitor quality of care by complying with contract requirements for contacting clients by phone, by letter, and/or by conducting home/residential visits.
- Facilitate or co-lead independent living life skills training in both a group and individual setting.
- Other duties may be assigned, and special projects may be requested
Working Hours
CNSWFL’s work week is Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week. Your supervisor will advise you of your work hours; however, business office hours are 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
Travel
Travel in and outside of Circuit 20 (Lee, Charlotte, Collier and Hendry/Glades counties) is required.
Training
All employees must complete fifteen (15) hours of on-line or classroom Training on an annual basis. If the employee is a Certified Child Welfare Professional, Training hours must total twenty (20) annually.
Supervisory Responsibilities
This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required, A.A. degree preferred
- A minimum one (1) year of child welfare or family support related experience preferred
- Must have a working knowledge of community services and resources in our local five (5) county area
- Strong organizational skills and problem-solving abilities is a must
- Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships is also a must
Skills and Abilities
Must be able to operate standard modern office machinery, including fax, telephone, calculator, computer, scanner, printer, copier, and mail machine. Minimum typing speed of 50 wpm; excellent word processing skills. Must be competent with Microsoft Office Suite programs, including Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook. Must be competent with basic e-mail protocol and procedures including sending, receiving, replying, attachments, and meeting scheduling; excellent written and oral communication skills; effective listening skills; self-motivated; ability to manage various work assignments simultaneously; ability to work as a team member, and the ability to work in a multi-cultural environment. Must abide by the highest standards of confidentiality.
