Job Summary

The hearing and speech assistant ensures the audiologists and speech-language pathologists are practicing at the top of their scope by providing essential, often non-billable services for patients. Some of these duties include education, consultation for technology, liaison between departments; provides assistance in patient care for patients who are young and difficult to evaluate and treat; assists the audiology assistant in maintaining the hearing aid and cochlear implant dispensary (billing, invoices, PO, supplies, sales, loaner equipment and databases.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in communication science disorders or related field from an accredited institution.

Experience

One year of job related experience preferred.

Licensures, Certifications, and/or Registries

Registered as a Speech Language Pathology Assistant or Audiology Assistant through the Alabama Boarded of Speech Language Pathology and Audiology (ABESPA).
