FLSA Status : Fulltime / Exempt

SUMMARY

The Director of Clinical Services is a member of the Executive Leadership Team and has primary responsibility for the day-to-day management and operations of CPA's clinical programs, both those that are provided via direct service and those provided via partner channels. The Director will provide administrative and clinical supervision to program staff and partners to ensure services are delivered according to local, state, and federal laws, in compliance with contractual requirements, and in fidelity to CPA's model. The Director is responsible for ensuring the quality of care for all behavioral health clients. To that end, this position leads the Child & Family Support Services Team and works across program departments to evaluate and enhance current clinical services, to expand and promote services, and to catalyze opportunities in the behavioral health space to position Children's Place Association as a thought partner and leader in community centric mental health equity. The Director of Clinical Services takes the lead in developing the agency's clinical policies to ensure consistency in service quality, and sets and pursues high standards for excellence to meet or exceed accreditation and licensing requirements.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (other duties may be assigned) :

CFSS Program Design, Accountability, Management, and Training

  • Leads the Child & Family Support Services (CFSS) team that consists of the Supportive Housing Program Supervisor, Family Case Manager, and Medical Case Manager.
  • Ensures adequate progress toward annual program targets as defined by the annual work plan, strategic plan, and contractual agreements.
  • Partners with the Housing Program Supervisor to build and maintain a robust wraparound transitional housing service model.
  • Partners with the Medical Case Manager to evaluate and strengthen the medical case management function, with the ambition to grow this function.
  • Conceptualizes new programs and services as appropriate to address emerging client needs, maximize opportunities and adapt to changing conditions.
  • Acts as Co-Chair of the Housing / Intake Committee. Deploys best practices to assess and recommend clients for placement.
  • Evaluates individual and team performance and uses information to make necessary improvements to maximize the quality of care and staff productivity.
  • Partners with staff to create and achieve comprehensive departmental goals, included but not limited to : program, fiscal, professional development, and training.
  • Reviews and / or completes reports for internal and external stakeholders and funders.

Direct Service

  • Maintains a caseload of individual and small group therapy clients, as needed.
  • Collaborates with program departments to create and execute an annual series of targeted Psychosocial / Educational Workshops to be provided to CPA's client community and the community at large.
  • Cross-Departmental Gatekeeping & Engagement

  • Actively participates in the hiring and onboarding of all clinically focused staff, regardless of their placement in the agency.
  • Cultivates social work and clinical internship pathways. Leads the development and oversight of learning agreements with partner institutions.
  • Provides clinical supervision across the agency on behalf of all clinically engaged interns and volunteers.
  • Offers thought leadership for programs regarding existing, planned, and needed clinical services. Has keen awareness of gaps in service and develops plans to address such gaps.
  • Monitors the agency-wide database on behalf of clinical programs and services to ensure accuracy and compliance; leads the case review process.
  • Partners with the Operations department to achieve and maintain HIPAA compliance.
  • Develops and monitors the agency's clinical services budget.
  • Leads the agency's pursuit of a trauma informed culture.
  • Serves as the internal ambassador for mental wellness and partners with human resources to introduce employee wellness initiatives.
  • Serves as external champion for Children's Place Association's clinical services, representing the organization with partner organizations, mental health funders, and across the local landscape, including the city's public health response to mental health.
  • Implements relevant agency-wide tools in the areas of : client / family intake, client / family assessment, and client / family development.
  • Collaborates with Development efforts to identify, plan and pursue funding opportunities.
  • Assessment, Standards & Quality

  • Leads the agency's effort to maintain clinical accreditation standards.
  • Develops quantitative and qualitative metrics to frame program impact. Revise logic models as necessary.
  • Acts as Chair of the Clinical Risk Committee.
  • EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

  • Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling or a related field from an accredited college or university required.
  • Professional licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC), Ph.D. or Psy.D. required.
  • Minimum of eight years of progressive supervisory and management experience in social services / counseling / behavioral health services required, preferably in child welfare and in service to marginalized communities.
  • Excellent social and interpersonal skills and ability to relate to persons from various backgrounds required.
  • Must have excellent budgeting skills and a proven ability to understand and analyze financial statements.
  • Must be highly organized, flexible and able to manage multiple projects and employees.
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.

    Pay Range : $71,000 - $78,000 per year
