What are the responsibilities and job description for the Childcare Center Director position at Children's Playhouse Learning Center?
QUALIFICATIONS: Experience as a Director and/or highly skilled childcare teacher with sufficient administrative and leadership experience, and or/degree or diploma in childcare; experience and skills in planning and administering an early childhood or related programs. Knowledge of Child Care licensing requirements. CPR and First Aid certification required. Computer skills preferred.
REPORTS TO: Child Care owner
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assures all guidelines from the State of New Mexico licensing are reviewed and met.
- Conducts regular performance evaluations and feedback on every employee.
- Consults with Office Manager regarding hiring, dismissal and disciplinary issues of staff according to the policies of the Children’s Playhouse Childcare Center.
- Establishes all facility plans, policies and regulations, and communicates these to staff parents, children and community.
- Supervises all staff conduct and carries out personnel policies.
- Ensures daily activities are met and assures that additional staff is available as needed to maintain staff-child rations.
- Provides for the safety and comfort of staff and children in the program.
- Performs various record-keeping functions to maintain the operations of the program.
- Conducts and documents all state required emergency drills.
- Conducts regular staff meetings to communicate the policies of the program.
- Always maintains the highest standard of professional behavior in the program.
- Maintains current First Aid and CPR training.
- Performs all duties specified under CYFD regulations.
- Demonstrates effective consensus-building and negotiation skills.
- Maintains a level of dress that is conducive to physical interactions with children, but that is also professional in appearance.
- Maintains high expectations for self, student and staff performance.
- Promotes and supports all areas of academics through enrichment activities.
- Accepts responsibility for the operations of the program.
- Considers the impact of one’s actions on others.
- Performs related duties as assigned.

Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour
