The Role
This is a full-time position at our Roxbury location, requiring a commitment of 40 hours per week . The Shelter Case and Placement Manager will work with families in various shelter settings to secure safe housing as quickly as possible using a strength-based, person-centered approach. The responsibilities include :
- Assessing families' basic needs and providing support.
- Empowering families in their housing search and guiding them through the housing market.
- Developing rehousing plans and housing strategies with families to help them exit the shelter within 9 months.
- Entering data into databases, collecting and managing necessary documentation.
- Conducting weekly meetings and home visits, and accompanying families to housing appointments.
- Providing interventions and referrals for additional resources.
- Ensuring compliance with state and shelter policies, conducting weekly shelter inspections, and networking with community agencies.
