What are the responsibilities and job description for the Nurse Practitioner/Physician's Assistant - Gastroenterology position at Children’s Specialty Group?
Children’s Specialty Group. PLLC (CSG) in partnership with Children’s Hospital of The King’s Daughter (CHKD) is seeking a full-time Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our multidisciplinary Gastroenterology division.
The division includes 6 physicians and 2 outpatient Nurse Practitioners as well as dieticians, social workers and nursing and administrative staff. This is a primarily inpatient GI position, though there is opportunity to incorporate some outpatient GI in the future. The candidate will work closely with the inpatient GI attending to perform new and follow established consults, attend rounds, and collaborate with other CHKD specialties, pediatricians and the Emergency Department. Opportunities to join multidisciplinary teams and other hospital initiatives including the Intestinal Rehabilitation Team are available. Typical hours are Monday through Friday from 8:30AM to 4:30PM. There are no call or weekend requirements.
Qualifications
- Current Virginia license or eligible for Virginia license as Pediatric Nurse Practitioner, Family Nurse Practitioner, or Physician Assistant
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- One year of gastroenterology experience is preferred but not required, ideally with significant exposure to the pediatric population
