What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pediatric - Associate Medical Director, Inpatient Mental Health Program position at Children’s Specialty Group?
Children’s Specialty Group (CSG) and Children’s Hospital of the King’s Daughters (CHKD) are looking for full time Associate Medical Director to join our talented Psychiatry and Psychology team of skilled clinicians committed to delivering high quality mental health care. The successful candidate will join a multi-disciplinary team providing family-centered, evidence-based care to children. The Associate Medical Director will be responsible for collaborating with Pediatricians and Pediatric APPs to provide general pediatric care and consults to patients for the inpatient psychiatry units.
As part of CHKD’s commitment to address a critical mental health crisis among youth, the health system built a $224 million mental health hospital which includes 48 general treatment inpatient psychiatry beds, 8 psych-med beds for kids with stable physical illness requiring acute psychiatric treatment, and 4 beds on the inpatient neurodevelopmental unit. This expansion will also include a 30-patient partial hospital program and other outpatient health services.
CHKD main hospital has 206-bed freestanding children’s hospital and Level I pediatric trauma center that is in the center of a thriving medical campus. The wider CHKD health system offers a network of comprehensive pediatric services in more than 40 locations across southeastern Virginia and northeastern North Carolina.
