Job Description
The Youth Worker Supervisor is responsible for overseeing a group of youth workers and lead youth workers in a therapeutic environment.
Duties include relaying information between the team and management, guilding the team through daily work activities or projects, and monitoring employee performance. The Youth Worker Supervisor will use their knowledge of the company culture and procedures to train new hires and ensure employees unhold the core values of the organization.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage the workflow of youth workers.
- Create team schedules.
- Delegate tasks.
- Assess work performance of employees and identify areas that need improvement.
- Assist with training.
- Coach, counsel and discipline employees as needed.
- Maintain safe and healthy living and working environment.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree in Human Services, Psychology, or related area preferred OR
- High school degree plus 2 years' experience in a Psychiatric Treatment Residential Unit (PTRU) in lieu of Bachelor's degree accepted
- Minimum of 2 years of work experience in a PTRU
- 2 years of recent management experience required.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
The work takes place in a group living environment. Examples include walking, running, occasional corrective contact. Minimal time will be spent in an office environment. Work also occurs in the community and travel to other locations is required for meetings and training sessions. Flexibility to work hours to support activities in a 24/7 organization.
Lifting up to 50 pounds may be required. Physical activity is required in interaction with youth.
