CTC is seeking energetic, motivated undergraduate students who believe in the power of theatre and the mission of CTC. CTC is a national leader among theatres providing innovative educational initiatives for preschool, elementary, middle, and high school students. Our summer camp is part of this theatre education experience. As a member of our Summer Camp Team, we also offer the following:
- Hands-on experience in facilitating summer camp logistics in a large professional theatre company that serves thousands of children and teens each year.
- Observe and assist professional teaching artists to learn classroom management, classroom structure, varied approaches to teaching theatre, and gain the ability to work with different age levels to learn how curriculum shifts based on student needs.
- Opportunity to lead students in theatre games and lessons during down time and aftercare to put your teaching skills into practice.
- Training in creating inclusive classrooms and working with students with special needs, students on the spectrum, or those needing trauma informed care.
- Provide a professional theatre environment with one-on-one and group access to Children's Theatre of Charlotte arts leadership.
- Be in the room where it happens! We also offer access to new play development workshops and readings that occur each summer at Children's Theatre of Charlotte.

When applying, please consider the following:
- You must secure and provide your own housing in Charlotte.
- You must be able to provide your own transportation to and from the theatre and/or the summer satellite locations.
- You will be granted time off only for personal emergencies (illness, death in the family, etc.).
- Compensation advertised is non-negotiable.
- You must be available to commit to the timeline listed below and able to work 40 hours per week.
Timeline: May 28 - August 16, 2024 (No camp the week of July 1-July 5)
Weekly Schedule: Monday-Friday - 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.
Compensation: $12/hour (guaranteed 40 hours per week).
Requirements
Camp Counselors directly supervise campers ages 3 -18. This includes assisting in the classroom and with daily logistics, drop-off and pick-up, snack time, aftercare, and administrative duties. In addition, Counselors may have the opportunity to observe and collaborate with professional CTC Teaching Artists. You will be the ideal candidate for this job if you have:
- Minimum of one completed year of college required.
- Background in theatre or education.
- Classroom experience working with a variety of ages.
- Reliable transportation.
- Comfortable with administrative duties.
- Experience with customer service and/or interacting with parents.

Salary : $12
