Children's Village Early Learning Centers is recruiting highly qualified full and part-time Assistants for all classrooms infants through school age. Classroom Assistants work within applicable frameworks and guidelines to support age-appropriate curriculum, focusing on learning through play, who are excited to provide high quality engaging interactions and supervision.
Minimum Qualifications and Skills:
- Minimum age- 25 years old
- General experience in an Early Learning environment or other employment related to the care of children.
- Ability to work within a team and to work effectively with other people.
- Clean driving record and willingness to drive
- Ability to communicate in English in a professional and positive manner.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Early childhood education courses or in a related field
- Paid experience as classroom assistant teacher
Essential Functions:
- Provide safe transportation using Children's Village busses to School Age Children, before and after school.
- Provide activities to meet the needs of the individual child with concerns for their interests, disabilities, special talents, cultural background and individual styles.
- Assist with classroom set up with well-defined interest areas. Set up toys/materials so that they are accessible to children.
- Follow appropriate guidance techniques and current lesson plans in the classroom.
- Interact and play with children during assigned times of responsibilities.
- Maintain a safe, orderly, clean and healthy environment; administer first aid and handle emergencies.
- Assist with toileting, diapering and hygiene needs of children.
- Establish/maintain positive communication with families, children and staff.
- Follow direction from teachers, lead staff, and supervisors.
- Participate regularly in staff meetings, professional development programs and workshops. Occasionally, those meetings can be held on a weeknight, or on a Saturday.
- Assist with child assessments and data collection on child skills, development and growth, as required throughout the program year.
- Follow USDA guidelines (including meal counts and service procedures).
- Maintain compliance with company policies/procedures, program standards and
- state licensing requirements.
- Light cleaning which may include sweeping, mopping, cleaning toilets and other cleaning duties.
- Other duties as assigned to support Children’s Village – BR, Inc. and Children’s Village – Salmon Creek, Inc..
Schedule:
- This position is full -time, Monday through Friday, between the hours of 630am to 6pm.
- Positions are year-round
Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:
- Float Assistants support the entire center in a variety of capacities, and potentially in all classrooms, from infants through school-age.
- Travel to/between Children’s Village centers and training sites as required.
- Excellent attendance during scheduled work hours, required meetings and trainings.
- Ability to see and hear effectively to provide active supervision of children at all times.
- May be required to sit, stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl to attend to children's needs, provide effective engagement, and to provide learning activities.
- May be required and be able to lift and/or move up to 40 lbs.

- Successful completion of a portable background check and fingerprint clearance through DCYF- Beginning January 1st, 2024 you MUST have a cleared background check prior to starting. We will interview and make job offers and start dates would be based on cleared background check.

- Proof of MMR vaccination
- Valid certification in CPR, first aid, HIV/Blood Borne Pathogens training and current food handler's card- Can obtain after hire
- Valid TB test completed within the previous twelve months PRIOR to hire.
- Participation in the State Training and Registry System (STARS) program required.
- Initial basic training to be completed within 3 months of employment.
- Ten hours of continuing education required annually per childcare licensing requirements.
Pay and Benefits:
$18/hour starting, depending on education, experience and other qualifications.
