Repairs, modifies, and inspects highly complex and other patient care equipment including computer-based systems and related networks. Provides technical assistance in the clinical setting; educating users of equipment; resolves hazard alerts and recalls, leads special projects relating to major installations of equipment, leads pre-purchase evaluations, oversees vendor services, and assists with budget preparations.
Education & Experience Requirements
Associate's degree (or equivalent knowledge) in Biomedical Equipment Technology or
5 years of experience performing repairs, calibration, and inspection of highly complex medical equipment and systems including computer-based systems and related networks, leading special projects, and performing equipment evaluations.
Licensure, Registration and / or Certification
Certified Biomedical Equipment Technician (CBET) certification through the Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation (AAMI) within 12 months of starting in this position.
Requires a valid driver's license, acceptable driving record, ability to be insured by CHHS carrier and personal liability insurance per policy.
