Functions with demonstrated expertise in the delivery of direct Orthopedic care to children and their families. Partners with healthcare team and assesses, prioritizes and provides care to clinic patient population. Meets specific requirements, goals, and competencies established within the Orthopedic clinic.
Minimum Requirements and Responsibilities
Graduation from high school or equivalent required, with course work in biology or physics preferred.
Knowledge of orthopedic surgery instruments, orthopedic casting techniques, application of braces, normally acquired through a minimum of one year related experience preferred.
Experience in a pediatric setting preferred.
Good interpersonal skills to effectively interact with physicians, patients, parents and staff.
Requires flexibility of time and duties in order to work in a fast paced environment.
Familiarity with personal computer operations and functions.
CPR certification verified or obtained within the first 90 days of employment.
Ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, providers, staff, and leadership.
Good analytical ability to observe and communicate problems as they arise.
Must be able to transfer and ambulate patients, lift orthopedic devices, stand for long periods of time and lift objects up to 75 pounds.
Frequently bends, lifts, twists, reaches, and squats.
Occasionally push/pulls and does overhead work.
Promotes courteous behavior as outlines in the department's guest relations' guidelines.
The schedule for this position is: Monday through Friday 8am-4:30pm.
