Job Purpose Management :
The Clinical Technologies Contract Manager will have expert technical and operational understanding of biomedical engineering. The incumbent will facilitate the partnership between UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital Oakland (BCH Oakland) and other organizations. They will be tasked with researching, developing, and preparing contracts that provide workflow and exceptional financial solutions to robustly manage medical device and medical systems as they present themselves to UCSFs complex care environment. The incumbent will additionally work with industry, peer organizations, and supply chain management to ensure that BCH Oakland contracts are in line with industry standards and pricing.
Essential Functions :
Provides assistance to department managers when purchasing
Provides senior leadership with cost saving methods and alternativesAssists and manages annual capital and operational budgets for clinical technologies and biomedical engineeringEnsures that the annual budget worksheet is up to date representing the changes and that proper amounts are requestedComplianceEnsures the organization's internal contract documents are accurate and well maintained
Serves as the departmental policy administrator and initiating and maintain internal policy workflowSupports biomedical department on regulatory mattersHelps to create and manage department policies ensuring compliance from a departmental, organizational, and regulatory perspectiveActs as a liaison between vendors and legal to ensure timely completion of all documentsProvides expert level of support in preparation for Joint Commission and other regulatory agency auditsEnsures that all policy updates include Joint Commission changesCustomer ServicesDrafts and revises a variety of contracts with customers
Meets with customers to discuss both legal and business mattersMaintains excellent working relationships with clients to ensure their needs are metInformation and Business AdviceProvides advice and guidance to the different teams relating to contract generation
Provides support and advice on new potential businesses opportunitiesIdentify opportunities to improve business processes and devises plans to implement these changesOperations ManagementCreates, prepares, reviews and edit all contracts; plus assesses and resolves issues related to expiring, current, and future contracts
Identifies opportunities to improve business processes and devises plans to implement these changesThe Chief of Biomedical Engineering on the matters related to the operation and capital budgetManages and maintains all medical maintenance contractsRepresents the biomedical engineering department in contract negotiations with vendorsManages and maintains all biomedical policies and environment of care policiesEffectively communicates with senior leadership, departmental leaders, IT, union leaders, supply chain management, UCOP, and other UC affiliatesTechnical Knowledge :

Recent previous experience is required in contract administration, policy management, or operations management (one or more) to understand the needs and requirements of the biomedical engineering department from both a financial standpoint and a regulatory standpointExperience with systems-related issues and actions that can be taken to improve or correct performanceExperience with design, configuration, operation, repair, and tuning of technology systemsExperience with determining how systems and technology should operate most efficiently and how changes to technology systems will affect outcomes, operations and business objectivesPhysical Requirements :
