Job Overview
Provide physical therapy services including; evaluation, treatment and follow up and documentation using general competencies for inpatient and outpatient children referred to the physical therapy depa.rtment. Provide supervision for PT aides/assistants and students with specific tasks and/or patients. Provide continuous consultation and education to families.
The Sports Medicine Center at Children’s Hospital Colorado leads the region in state-of-the-art treatment for young athletes. Our fully integrated team of sports medicine doctors, athletic trainers, physical therapists, and pediatric specialists delivers care geared exclusively toward growing bodies. Physical therapists on this team are experts in evaluation and treatment of adolescent athletes who are returning to high levels of activity. Clinicians treat in our sports medicine dedicated gyms where patient population is typically aged 12-20 and made up of various operative and non-operative diagnoses specific to the young athlete. Experience in movement analysis, advanced exercise progression, and return to sport decision making for the upper and lower extremity is preferred. Clinicians are also expected to communicate with physicians, parents, coaches, athletic trainers, and performance coaches as needed to maximize rehabilitation opportunities and set expectations for key people involved in the athlete’s return. This program has a strong emphasis in evidence-based practice, research initiatives, community outreach and professional growth and collaborates frequently across our six locations. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Collaboration- Collaborates with the family, physicians, schools and other providers to ensure the continuum of care for the child and optimal clinical services. Provides consultation and education to other professionals and families as necessary.
Documentation- Completes written documentation in accordance with department standards for format, location and time frames.
Evaluation/Re-evaluations: Independently evaluates children from birth to 21 years of age, with a variety of diagnosis, in specialized programs, on inpatient and/or outpatient units. Incorporates principles of cultural-competence and family-centered care into clinical services.
Financial Responsibility: Assists in achieving departmental financial budget targets.
Leadership and/or Professionalism- Demonstrates professional behaviors; adheres to hospital and departmental policies and promotes personal and departmental development through participation in development activities to improve the patient experience and quality goals of the department and hospital. Provides clinical supervision as needed/when appropriate for physical therapy clinical interns.
Treatment- Treat children across the continuum, with a variety of diagnoses, in specialized programs on inpatient and outpatient units and in the community. Incorporates principles of cultural-competence and family-centered care into clinical services. Seeks out appropriate mentoring/training and consults with relative Program Coordinator and/or assigned mentor for complex patient diagnoses.

Qualifications
EDUCATION – Master’s degree in Physical Therapy or related field of study. Doctorate in PT preferred
EXPERIENCE – One year of professional experience as physical therapist. Experience with Pediatrics/Teenagers preferred. 2 years of experience preferred. Knowledge of return to sport and sport specific exercise preferred. Adolescent sports medicine experience preferred. OCS or SCS preferred; residency preferred.
EQUIVALENCY – In lieu of a master’s degree and one year of experience, a bachelor’s degree and three years of experience can be substituted.
CERTIFICATION(S) - BLS for Healthcare Providers/CPR
LICENSURE - State of Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA) Physical Therapist license

Salary Information
Annual Salary Range (Based on 40 hours worked per week): $73,044.66 to $109,567.00
Hourly Salary Range: $35.12 to $52.68
