Job Overview
Coordinates day to day staffing and supports patient flow efforts for inpatient and ambulatory patient care areas. Communicates effectively and efficiently with Admitting Case Managers, Charge Nurses, and Nursing Supervisor. Functions as help desk support for Clairvia. Performs Bed Meeting prep through use of Acuity
System, and documents daily staffing activities. Provides phone support to the Transfer Center. Assists with communication to Float/Flex Team staff. Creates and distributes reports as needed. Involved in special projects and activities as requested.

Essential Functions
Able to create reports and analyze staffing trends to identify unit staffing to baseline. Must have the ability to escalate when necessary.
Able to enter Bed requests in Teletracking so as to place patients in particular rooms.
Able to facilitate and plan for daily staffing meetings.
Accurately and appropriately documents required elements into Scheduling & Acuity System, the electronic bed board, the electronic medical record and other data entry systems in a timely manner.
Accurately and appropriately utilizes the required monitoring systems in order to ensure appropriate and timely movement of patients within the hospital system in support of hospital goals and customer satisfaction initiatives.
Document patient flow delays, communicate with appropriate units regarding these delays, and escalate issues appropriately and in a timely manner. This includes communicating to units who exceed certain target times around admissions and discharges.
Functions with high level knowledge of the Scheduling & Acuity system, with demonstrates ability to answer escalated questions from the hospital help desk. Meeting Requirement: 50% attendance of all required meetings, including all department meetings and trainings. Any other required meetings will be communicated as ‘required’ in advance. Conference lines will be made available for those who cannot attend in person.
Processes incoming calls from internal and external customers, including but not limited to: nursing units, environmental services, Emergency Department, Periop Services, community facilities, and community referring physicians. Able to handle phone calls with professional phone etiquette, eliciting adequate and appropriate information to enable appropriate level of care for each patient.
Responsible for accurate and timely documentation and maintenance of daily staffing activities.
Responsible for effective communication with all departments served including cost effective actions in staff and/or bed assignment decisions. -
Responsible for the coordination of acuity and patient flow based staffing needs throughout hospital.

Qualifications
General Work Experience: Strong organization, coordination and customer service skills required. Functional knowledge of Windows operating environment including but not limited to Word and Excel programs required. Some experience with databases helpful. Previous staffing, patient placement and medical office or hospital background required. Excellent written and verbal communication. Ability to prioritize effectively, and to work independently and as a team member. Knowledge of ClairVia, TeleTracking, and Epic preferred.

Salary Information
Annual Salary Range (Based on 40 hours worked per week): $37,043.24 to $55,564.87
Hourly Salary Range: $17.81 to $26.71
