Job Overview
Performs a spectrum of ultrasound procedures on patients to include general, gynecological, vascular and pediatric specific exams; provides conscientious patient care while adhering to all quality and safety standards; and performs administrative duties (such as scheduling appointments, patient instructions, and maintenance of records). Works at the Anschutz campus as well as at the Network of Care locations as required.

Neonate- < 30 days
Infancy- > 30 days to 1 yr.
Toddlers- > 1 yr. to 3 yrs.
Pre-schoolers- > 3 yrs. to 5 yrs.
School age-> 5 yrs. to 13 yrs.
Adolescent- >13 yrs. to 18 yrs.
Adult- >18 yrs. to 65 yrs.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
An employee in this position may be called upon to do any or all of the following essential functions. These examples do not include all of the functions which the employee may be expected to perform.
Independently performs high quality ultrasound images that are evaluated and scored by the modality supervisor.
Provides age appropriate care and appropriately prepares patients for procedures.
Provides high quality patient care through the use of effective communication that explains the ultrasound exam and ensures patient comfort and safety.
Operates all equipment properly to include any adjunct equipment that is required.
Demonstrates competency in all aspects of RIS and PACs as it pertains to modality specific functions and use.
Manages patient priority and act as first responder when needed
Follows department policies, procedures and protocol.
Trains and mentors students and new hires.
Works variable shifts and takes call as needed.

SCOPE AND LEVEL
Guidelines: Developmental, standard, or intermediate level. Guidelines are generally numerous, well established, and directly applicable to the work assignment. Work assignment and desired results are explained by general oral or written instructions.
Complexity: Duties assigned are generally complex and may be of substantial intricacy. Work assignment is performed within an established framework under general instructions but requires simultaneous coordination of assigned functions or projects in various stages of completion.
Decision Making: Decisions or recommendations on non-standardized situations are limited to relating organizational policies to specific cases. Brings non routine issues to supervisor. Problems that are not covered by guidelines or that are without precedent are taken up with the supervisor.
Communications: Contacts with team members, clients or the public where explanatory or interpretive information is exchanged, gathered, or presented and some degree of discretion and judgment are required within the parameters of the job function.
Supervision Received: Under normal supervision, within a standardized work situation, the employee performs duties common to the line of work without close supervision or detailed instruction. Work product is subject to continual review.
Qualifications
EDUCATION – Completion of an accredited diagnostic medical sonography program
CERTIFICATION(S) –RDMS (abd) required within 6 mos of hire; RVT required within one year of hire; Pediatric sonography required within 2 years of hire; BLS/CPR from the American Heart Association with at least 6 months left before expiration is required upon hire.

Salary Information
Annual Salary Range (Based on 40 hours worked per week): $67,176.54 to $100,764.81
Hourly Salary Range: $32.30 to $48.44
