What are the responsibilities and job description for the Chaplain II position at Childrens Hospital of Birmingham?
At Children’s of Alabama, clinically trained chaplains provide around the clock spiritual care for patients, caregivers and staff. Chaplains are integrated into the interdisciplinary care teams in the services / units to which they are assigned, providing spiritual and cultural insight essential for a family centered model of care. As a member of the collaborative Pastoral Care team, each chaplain provides on-call coverage as needed to insure around the clock chaplain availability.
- Education
- Four units of CPE - Residency preferred
- Experience
- Licensures, Certifications, and / or Registries
- Certified by the Association of Professional Chaplains preferred
- If not certified, then must be eligible for certification by the Association of Professional Chaplains within the first 12 months of employment and certified by the Association of Professional Chaplains preferred within 24 months of employment.
Graduate theological degree from an accredited school of theology
Ministry experience beyond CPE in a pediatric setting preferred
Ordination and / or endorsement by a recognized faith community
