What are the responsibilities and job description for the Educator Diabetes position at Childrens Hospital of Birmingham?
The clinician is a professional nurse who is an expert in the care of a specified patient population / subspecialty area. The clinician assumes a leadership role and supervisory responsibilities in the development, organization, and implementation of care services for the specified patient population.

- Current BLS certificate required, BLS Instructor preferred.
- Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist” (CDCES) required
- o Must obtain within 3 years of assuming the role.
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
Preferred Education and experience as follows :
BSN degree with a minimum of four years of recent clinical nursing experience, preferably in pediatrics, preferably in outpatient setting.
OR MSN degree with a minimum of three years recent nursing experience, preferably in pediatrics, preferably outpatient setting.
Will Consider : ADN degree with a minimum of five years recent nursing experience; a minimum of 3 years in pediatric subspecialty preferred.
Current RN License in the State of Alabama
