This role will be pivotal in ensuring a seamless data exchange for clinical, non-clinical systems, and our digital platforms, including mobile applications and CRM. A primary focus is on developing and optimizing data pipelines that integrate data from various sources into our Enterprise Data Platform and vice versa, supporting analytics, operational needs, and compliance. This role will leverage industry-leading standards like APIs, FHIR, HL7, and other integration and engineering technologies to drive interoperability across systems, enabling improved patient care, operational efficiency, and support for mergers and acquisitions. The position involves managing vendor relationships, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and maintaining best practices in data architecture and pipeline development. Responsible for application development, data engineering, data rationalization, and developing data engineering strategies aligned with CHOC’s mission of delivering exceptional healthcare services. This role will also be responsible for overseeing the management and maintenance of our cloud infrastructures, ensuring their security, reliability, and scalability. The successful candidate will lead efforts to optimize cloud resource usage, oversee monitoring of the environments, maintain disaster recovery plans, and stay updated with the latest cloud technologies and best practices.Pay RangeMinimum $127,442 Midpoint $168,854 Maximum $210,267Rate of pay is determined by various factors, including but not limited to knowledge, skills, competencies, experience, education, as well as position requirements.Experience* Required:Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in application development, data integration, data pipelines, and architecture design. Minimum three (3) years of experience with healthcare integration technologies, including APIs, FHIR, HL7, and other healthcare interoperability standards. Strong understanding of cloud-based platforms, SaaS, and hybrid environments, including hands-on experience with data migration and integration across cloud and on-premises systems. Previous experience leading integration efforts during mergers and acquisitions is a plus. EducationBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Master’s degree or equivalent experience is preferred. TrainingExpertise in APIs, FHIR, HL7, and integration middleware tools. Expertise in data pipeline design and architecture. Strong knowledge of EMR systems, healthcare data standards, and interoperability protocols. Experience with data rationalization, transformation, and integration best practices.
