  • GENERAL SUMMARY
  • The LCSW Clinical Social Worker (CAP) conducts evidence-supported psychotherapy of maltreated children and families. Reports to the Executive Director of CAP.
  • ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Evaluates children for symptoms of trauma and its impact and determines treatment and other needs.
  • Conducts evaluation of parents and other adults to determine their capacity to care for children in a healthy way.
  • Assimilates and summarizes data generated from evaluation and writes a thorough report including findings and recommendations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • LICENSES AND / OR CERTIFICATIONS
  • Current Virginia license as a License Clinical Social Worker (LSCW).
  • MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
  • Approximately six to twelve months on-the-job experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of child development.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
  • Experience in evaluation and treatment of child maltreatment population and their families.
  • Experience in implementing evidence-based treatments with children and families.
  • Ability to work with multidisciplinary approach.
  • Ability to work as a team player within a multidisciplinary approach.
  • Experience in working with investigative agencies and community resources.
  • Increased Security Clearance may be Required : Recurring FBI fingerprinting, criminal background check, Child Protective Services registry search, and Dru Sjodin National Sex Offender.
  • Increased Security Clearance Required for Job Roles in Medical Tower II : FBI fingerprinting, criminal background check, and Child Protective Services registry search.
  • WORKING CONDITIONS
  • Normal office environment with little exposure to excessive noise, dust, temperature and the like.
